Venice's Grand Canal offers one of the most beautiful locations for a winter city sunrise This shot was taken from the Academia Bridge which spans the canal just as the sun was rising over the Basilica Santa Maria della Salute The 3 minute exposure was just long enough to smooth the water and remove the boat traffic which even at this early hour was beginning to build
