The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is a dramatic canyon in Yellowstone National Park, carved by the Yellowstone River and famous for its colourful walls and waterfalls, including the Lower Falls (see here in the background - the Lower Falls is a 308-foot waterfall, the tallest waterfall in Yellowstone National Park).
The canyon is approximately 20-24 miles long, 800-1,200 feet deep, and 1,500-4,000 feet wide. Visitors can see it from viewpoints on the North Rim and South Rim, accessible from the park's Grand Loop Road
